It’s a reunion 27 years in the making, and it all started with a routine traffic stop. The motorist, who happened to be a retired cop, handed the New Jersey state trooper his old Piscataway, New Jersey ID. The two had no idea what they were about to discover. The driver, retired police officer Matthew Bailly, helped deliver state trooper Michael Patterson 27 years ago. “I think it was divine inspired. There’s no chance this type of thing just happens by accident,” said Patterson.
