Welcome back, Richest fans! For over a decade, the UAE had plans to build a massive entertainment complex within Dubai. One that would cost billions of dollars! The name of this venture was Dubailand. It would have been more than double the size of Disneyland World! It would contain a massive number of theme parks and various facilities to bring in that tourism revenue. However, due to the global recession in the 2000s, the plan was delayed. Eventually, Dubailand became a shell of what was originally planned. Today, we’re going to examine the story and what went wrong. As well as see just how much money all of the projects were worth.
Now for the spoiler paragraph. If you like surprises, we suggest you stop reading and immediately watch the video multiple times. Firstly, we’ll explore the history of the plan set in motion by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Then we’ll look at the various cancelled projects. Such as a park dedicated to Marvel characters! Way before the MCU became a big hit. There’s also what would have been the first Legoland in Asia. We’ll also look at the Six Flags park, Universal Studios, and Dubai’s answer to the London Eye that were all scrapped. We’ll then look at what was actually created. Such as the stunning Dubai Miracle Garden. It smashed a number of Guinness World Records! We’ll then look at the property value within Dubailand with the residential project that generated some beautiful homes. Finally, we’ll explore the IMG World Of Adventure. One of the few amusement parks that was actually built in Dubailand.
