In the wake of Doris Day’s death, many are paying tribute to the strides the actress made for animals. Day was not only one of the most famous residents in Carmel, California; for nearly 35 years, she also co-owned one of its local landmarks, The Cypress Inn, which is a 44-room boutique hotel. The hotel is considered one of the most pet-friendly in America.
